This Privacy Notice for U.S. Job Applicants (the “Applicant Privacy Notice”) describes the practices of Collectors Holdings, Inc, Collectors Universe, Inc., and their respective divisions and subsidiaries (collectively “Collectors,” “we,” or “us”) with respect to personal information of U.S. job applicants we collect during the employment application and recruitment process, including on our Careers portal at careers.collectors.com. By providing information as part of the recruitment process or otherwise engaging with Collectors, you consent to the terms of this Applicant Privacy Notice.

I. Information We Collect. We have collected in the past twelve (12) months the following categories of personal information:
Identifiers as well as other identifying information described in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e), such as name and contact information; email and mailing address; professional social networking profile; phone number; online identifiers; and social security and driver's license numbers (for employment eligibility and background checks immediately prior to commencing employment).
Commercial information, such as positions you viewed or considered and positions you applied for;
Characteristics of protected classifications, which you may voluntarily provide but which do not constitute part of your application, such as gender; veteran or active-duty military status; immigration status; racial or ethnic origin; and disability status;
Sensitive personal information, such as the government-issued identity numbers and the characteristics of protected classifications described above;
Education information, such as information about your education, degrees, certifications and qualifications included in employment applications and/or CVs, or in data provided to us by third parties;
Professional or employment-related information, including all information you include CV, resume, or application, such as professional experience and qualifications, certifications, trainings, language skills, eligibility to work in the jurisdiction where you apply, and relevant experience with collecting memorabilia. This may also include information provided to us as permitted by law by third parties that provide references, conduct background checks or pre-employment tests or screenings, or provide other information about you or your candidacy;
Audio, Video or Photographic Information that which you provide to us in connection with your application, and any images, audio, and / or video recorded during technical assessments;
Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as search history, browsing history, and information about how you use and interact with our online Careers portal; and you interactions and inputs during recorded technical assessments; and
Inferences drawn from the information listed above.
II. Sources of Information. We collect the above categories of personal information directly from you or your device, from publicly available sources, and from third parties, including references and third parties that assist with background checks or pre-employment screenings and tests.
III. How We Use Personal Information. We collect the above categories of personal information for the following purposes:
Operate, manage, and provide our Careers portal. We use personal information to operate our business and provide our Careers portal to you and others.
Processing job applications: We use personal information to process your application, evaluate your candidacy, and facilitate the hiring and onboarding process.
Communicate with you and process your requests: We use personal information to communicate with you, including (without limitation) regarding your application or candidacy, to send you job or application alerts, or to send you information about positions that may be of interest to you.
Personalize and enhance your experience with our Careers portal: We may use personal information to personalize your experience in our Careers portal; to store your information to match you with other positions that may be of interest to you.
Analytics, improvement, and product/service development: We may use personal information to analyze, evaluate, and improve our Careers portal, our services, our technologies, and our business; to develop new technologies, products, and services; learn about job applicants; and conduct research.
Protection of interests, security and integrity: Personal information may be used to protect the health, safety, welfare, rights, or interests of you, us, any third party, or the general public. It can also be used to protect the safety and integrity of our business, troubleshoot issues, and detect and prevent errors, fraudulent activity, or other potentially wrongful, harmful, or illegal activity.
Compliance and claims: We may use personal information to comply with, establish, assert, exercise, defend against, or enforce any legal claims, legal rights, legal obligations, legal process, government requests, Collectors policies, internal investigations, or prudent security or business practices. This includes (but is not limited to) enforcing this Privacy Notice and any other contract(s) or agreement(s) we may have with you.
As otherwise notified or permitted: We may also use information we collect for any other purpose notified to you or to which you consent, or which is permitted by applicable law.
IV. How We Share Personal Information.
We disclose all or substantially all of the above-listed categories of personal information with for our business purposes with the following categories of recipients:
Affiliates: We may share personal information with Collectors’ affiliates.
Service providers and business partners: We may share information with service providers and business partners who provide services to us or otherwise help us operate our business such as (without limitation) by hosting data or our Careers portal; helping us conduct background checks of other pre-employment screenings; or sending communications on our behalf.
Compliance- and security-related transfers: We may share personal information with third parties in connection with (a) complying with, establishing, asserting, exercising, defending against, or enforcing any legal claims, legal rights, legal obligations, legal process, Collectors policies, government requests, or prudent security or business practices; (b) protecting the health, safety, welfare, rights, or interests of you, us, any third party, or the general public; or (c) protecting the safety and integrity of our Services, troubleshooting issues, and detecting and preventing errors, fraudulent activity, or other potentially wrongful, harmful, or illegal activity.
Business transactions: We may share or transfer information with another business in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our assets.
V. Retention of Personal Information. We retain your personal information for the period(s) necessary to perform the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice, unless applicable law permits or requires a longer period. Please note this means we may be required to retain your Personal Information after you have submitted an application and received a decision on your candidacy.
VI. How We Secure Your Information. The Collectors Cybersecurity Team is responsible for securing your information. We employ industry best practices intended to safeguard data from misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, loss, alteration or destruction including but not limited to end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication, and regular penetration testing. We apply an adaptive risk-based approach to security, ensuring resilience against evolving threats while complying with applicable laws and regulations. We have established an incident response protocol to minimize the impact of security incidents. These controls are strengthened by a security training and awareness program for all employees.
VII. Notice of Monitoring. We and our service providers and third-party partners may monitor any use of or activity on our sites and Careers portal (including all jobs posted thereon) and may capture and retain records reflecting your activity on our sites for our business purposes. This may include records reflecting actions you take while using our sites and Careers portal (such as clicks on pages or links, scrolling, time spent on pages, and other activities), records of parts or all of your sessions on our sites, information you submit on or via our sites or Careers portal, or communications or information sent through or using our sites. Cookies and similar tracking technologies may also collect the foregoing information reflecting your use of and activity on our sites or Careers portal or may enable our third-party partners to collect such information. This information may be collected, retained, captured, and/or monitored by us or by our service providers and third-party partners. If you do not consent to the monitoring described here, you should not use our sites.
VIII. California Applicants’ Privacy Rights. If you are a California resident, you can request to exercise the following rights:
The Right to Access / Know. You may confirm whether we process your personal information and request access to the specific pieces of personal information we maintain about you.
The Right to Correct. You have the right to correct any personal information we maintain about you that is inaccurate.
The Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you.
We do not “sell” or “share” applicants’ personal information for “cross-context behavioral advertising.” Accordingly, we do not process opt-out requests, including those submitted through opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (“GPC”).
We do not process sensitive personal information in a way that requires us to provide a “Right to Limit” use or disclosure of sensitive personal information. As required by applicable law, we will not discriminate against you because of your exercise of any of the above rights.
Additionally, as of the Effective Date listed below, there is no commonly accepted response to Do Not Track signals initiated by browsers. Therefore, we do not respond to such signals.

Please note that, as required by applicable law, we may take steps to verify your identify before fulfilling your privacy rights request. We may require you to provide your name, contact information, and other information necessary to help verify your identity. If we cannot verify your identity, or if another applicable law prevents us from fulfilling your request, we may deny your request.
Authorized agents of California applicants who meet the requirements of applicable law may make the foregoing requests on a California applicants’ behalf. Even if you choose to use an agent, as permitted by law, to submit a request, we may require the agent to provide proof that you gave the agent signed permission to submit the request, require you to confirm you have authorized the agent in writing to act on your behalf, or require you to verify your own identity.
IX. Changes to this Privacy Notice: We may modify this Applicant Privacy Notice from time to time, and will post any revisions on this website. We will indicate at the bottom of this Notice the Effective Date of the most recent update. By using our Services following an update, you accept and agree to this Privacy Notice in its updated form.
